The Multidisciplinary Team
The multidisciplinary team may consists of classroom teachers, administration, academic coaches, behavior specialist, and child psychologist. This team of professionals is necessary to create a collaboration to ensure the success of all students that take part of the life of the students. This includes in both the academic and behavior aspect of their education. Their goal is to maintain a learning environment where all students will thrive.
As part of this team, we will help each other by identifying the strengths and needs of the students. To evaluate how we will move forward to helping them set the education program that is customized to their individual necessities. The role of administration and the academic coaches would be to provide the services needed by the school. As well as ensure there are policies to help the students and provide any accommodations needed. The behavior specialist and the child psychologist will provide methods to ensure the students are meeting their academic and behavior needs. This team all together will meet frequently to discuss any changes to better the quality of education the students are receiving.
As a classroom teacher it is important that I participate in my role by presenting the work that the students complete inside the classroom setting. Their work has a huge impact on the decisions that we may take as a team. During the team meetings I will present the various annotations I would take of the students behavior during class and their work that may rise academic concern. Most importantly I will provide multiple strategies and accommodations to best serve the students needs.
